The bell at this desk is struck once per sitting, and the restraint is deliberate. A bell rung for every small errand soon means nothing; a card consulted only when convenient soon describes no one. The single ring opens the work, the card is read whole, and the sitting proceeds in its fixed order until judging closes it.
The order is the same at every tool. Stills are proven against the nightbell card first. Repairs mend one named fault per pass. Swaps carry the proven face. Video moves the proven still. Upscalers finish only what every earlier pass has approved. Skipping a pass does not save its cost; it moves the cost, with interest, to the pass where the fault is finally heard.
Judging is done by ear as much as by eye: does this frame ring true against the five lines? A frame that rings false is a cull, however polished. A frame that rings true but wastes its sitting earns one editor pass, not an upscale.
Strike once, read whole, work in order. A studio whose signals stay rare stays able to hear them.
